Zawadi Hotel Zanzibar is the latest addition to the Zanzibar Collection which comprises Baraza, Breezes and the Palms, opening in June 2016. Zawadi's sister hotels share a reputation for excellence in service and good food, and we're sure this new hotel will be no different. The hotel is located on the south east coast of the island, enjoying stunning sunrise views and dhows sailing past on the horizon.
The lodge and villas are strung along the cliff and decorated in understated driftwood beach style, and with no dress code this is a place with an air of barefoot luxury and a relaxed ambience. There are just nine villas, each spacious and enjoying beautiful sea views of the Indian Ocean and plenty of private space.
There is a pretty cove with a sandy beach just a few steps away. Here, even during low tide, there is always water in the lagoon for swimming and snorkeling. Water sports can easily be arranged, with boat trips for snorkeling or diving on the reefs nearby, sailing and kite surfing in season and there is a PADI Rising Sun Diving Centre on site.
With a minimum age of 16, adult guests at Zawadi are able to relax by the infinity swimming pool, at the ocean-view bar and dining area, or with one of the spa treatments available in the privacy of your room's terrace which will definitely help to ease you into holiday mode!
There are nine private villas with en-suite bathrooms (free standing bath, walk in shower and double vanity), seating areas, huge double beds (with memory foam mattresses), closet area and views of the ocean. Each villa measures 100sqm and is accompanied by a spacious private terrace bordered by bougainvillea and palm trees.
The Mswakini Beach Bar
The Mswakini beach bar serves snacks, lunch and drinks are served throughout the day in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Once a month the very special full moon party is organized here as well.
The Drift Wood Dining Room
The Drift Wood dining room serves breakfast and dinner. Only the freshest island produce is used by our chef to create an authentic Zanzibar experience.
The Mali Mali lounge & Bar
The Mali Mali lounge and Bar opens for cocktails and drinks just before dinner. Lay back soak in the sea breeze and enjoy true Zanzibari hospitality.
Massages
Our professional Thai and Balinese therapists will come to your villa and set up your private massage bed on the terrace. Unwind and relax at the sound of the waves.
Nature Gym
Don’t run on a treadmill, at Zawadi we have a 900m long jogging trail winding gently through the back garden. Immerse yourself in tropical vegetation while inhaling the fresh sea breeze. At regular intervals there are chin up bars, benches, monkey bars and a special set of weights available for a complete exercise program. From the jogging trail a staircase leads down to the beach for a refreshing swim.
There is a water sports desk where you can arrange a variety of activities to make the most of the superb marine environment near here. Book snorkeling or diving trips which take a boat out to the reefs, learn to dive, try your hand at kite-surfing (seasonal) or sailing.
