Welcome to Meeru Island Resort, with its ‘no news, no shoes’ feel.

As the only resort on the beautiful Meeru Island, you are welcomed to the Maldives with a palm tree-filled interior, wonderful white, sandy beaches and a luscious lagoon. Beach villas, garden rooms and water villas are scattered across the 1200 meter long by 350 meter wide island.

Accommodation

The 286 rooms include water and beach villas, garden rooms and two honeymoon suites, most of them attractively decorated in tropical style, with pale wood walls, bright cushions and throws and tile or wood floors. Some have partially outdoor bathrooms, some have a private hot tub, and the more expensive categories are on the best beaches, facing south or west. All rooms have internet access and private porch or terrace.

Fairvalhu

Found in the centre of the island, this is where you can get the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Specifically for the guests in the garden rooms, beach villas, Jacuzzi beach villas and Jacuzzi water villas this is a spacious, open-air setting with a thatched roof above the sand floor.

Maalan

The north end equivalent of the buffet option. It has the same menu, has the same design and is a spacious area.

Asian Wok

An over-the-water eatery at the southern tip, this is a reservation recommended restaurant serving delicious teppanyaki and Asian cuisine.

Hot Rock

Using the trend of volcanic ‘hot rocks’, the restaurant and bar gives you the chance to cook your own chicken, game, steak or seafood.

Meeru Café

Small snacks like sandwiches, pastries and ice cream can be found here as well as teas and coffees.

Dhoni Bar

An al fresco deck that rolls onto the beach, this bar offers a vibrant atmosphere and is also home to the poolside snack house of Hunhaanu.

Kakuni Bar

Watch your favorite sports on the big screen with a beer and magnificent ocean vista at this traditional bar.

The Uthuru Bar

Part of the adult-only part of the resort, it boasts great views of the sunset.

Pavilion Bar

A lively beach bar with seating inside and outside.

Duniye Spa provides a tropical spa experience for women and men, focused on wholeness, simplicity, purity and quality. Kids

Meeru Island Resort & Spa is an ideal resort island for families. Children are about 5% of guests to the Maldives, so many resorts focus on adults and are not very child friendly. Meeru has areas, facilities and services for adults only, however it caters for and welcomes families of all ages!

Meeru is a relatively large island so there is plenty of space for the children to be themselves without disturbing anyone else. Children can run about without fear of being hurt…plenty of soft sand beach. Naturally, parents must keep an eye on their children when near the lagoon or pools.

The Dive Center teaches a children’s introductory SCUBA course.

Babysitting services are available and can be arranged by contacting Reception. It is recommended to provide 8 hours notice. For the convenience of our guests, there is a medical clinic and resident doctor at Meeru.

Conferences

Meeting and Banquet Facilities include 2 air-conditioned classrooms, each seating up to 30 guests, and an open-air Hall, island style, with overhead ceiling fans and sand floor, for functions up to 100 guests.
