The spa at Dream of Zanzibar is the place to really enjoy some holiday indulgence on your own or with a friend in our couples’ treatment room.
Rest and revive in the mosaic steam room, then choose your dream treatment from an extensive menu that includes therapeutic wraps, scrubs, facials and a range of massage. Many therapies use local ingredients such as mongongo nuts, cinnamon, coffee or African ginger.
The spa area includes a beauty salon, fitness facilities with views over the sand and sea, and a plunge pool for post treatment relaxation.
Dive from pool to sea and strike out in a kayak, play beach volley ball or soccer on the sand; there are loads of inclusive activities at Dream of Zanzibar all making the most of the Indian Ocean location. Our beach is a kite surfer’s paradise, and the snorkeling is world class.
Water sports
The sea in front of Dream of Zanzibar is an inviting clear blue, with a soft sandy bottom. It is a beautiful swimming beach for all the family, meanwhile there’s plenty of sport to be had on and under the water; kayaking, snorkeling, diving, sailing and kite surfing.
Snorkeling and Diving
Zanzibar has some fabulously colorful reefs at the Mnemba Marine Reserve or Tumbatu, where you can snorkel or dive to spot turtles, clown fish, sea horses and octopus. Children can take a Bubble maker course, adults can train for PADI, while the more advanced might enjoy our night dives.
Sailing and cruising
The sea is soft and the wind is fair making the waters off our beach a dream for sailing and windsurfing. Take out a Pico, hobie cat or surfboard, and if you need a lesson professionals are always available. For something more relaxed join our sunset cruise on a traditional Arabic Dhow.
Kite Surfing
The shallow clear sea, sandy bottoms and fresh ‘Kuzi’ and ‘Kaskazi’ winds make our beach a dream for Kite Surfers. Learn to fly the kite, even 8 year olds can try this, then advance to steering and eventually test out some jumps and rotations, meanwhile pros will have a blast in these ideal conditions.
Excursions
It is hard to leave Dream of Zanzibar even for a few hours, but there are plenty of excursions to choose, from spice tours to the history and heritage of Stone Town. There are also delightful trips to see the local wildlife; giant tortoises, dolphins and Red Colobus Monkeys.
Jambo! Our professional caregivers will give your little ones a warm welcome and will keep them energized, entertained and educated with sports, craft and games. They will build fabulous sand castles, learn to tie a kanga, try out beach Olympics and speak the Lion King lingo, Swahili. The group will have lunch together and then flop down for some movie time.
Simba Club is open for all kids aged 3 to 12 years, from 10am to 3pm every day except Thursdays, which can be arranged by request.
Brides to be, honeymooners and anniversaries, we offer the setting for a tropical celebration to remember forever.
