Winter wonderland and Santa

The run up to Christmas is a magical time in Lapland. Santa is getting ready for his mammoth journey across the world and the elves are busy making all the presents. What better time to pay him a visit with your Christmas wishes for the year? Staying at a Jeris Cabin you can be guaranteed that Santa’s reindeer and the elves are not far away. Visit Santa is the perfect package for families wanting to experience everything on offer in Santa’s homeland.

Day 1:  ARRIVAL
On arrival at Kittila airport, you will be transferred to Muonio, Hotel Jeris.
Overnight:  Jeris Hotel  (Dinner)

Day 2:  HUSKY AND ARTS & CRAFTS
After breakfast, you will visit the husky farm where you will have a guided tour and meet some of the husky pups as well as the experienced sled dogs. You will learn a little about the dogs before embarking on a 6km husky safari. After returning to the hotel you will have lunch. In the afternoon you will make some traditional Finnish Christmas elves (something a bit like a garden gnome).

Day 3:  REINDEER & COOKIES
This morning you will be transferred to the local reindeer farm after breakfast. You will have a chance to feed the reindeer, learn how to throw a lasso and experience a short reindeer ride. Lunch will be served in the ice restaurant (this is weather dependent, should conditions not be appropriate lunch will instead be around the fire in a traditional kota (tent)). In the afternoon you will make some Christmas decorations and stockings that you can take back home. Tonight there will be a special Christmas themed dinner.

Day 4:  SNOWMOBILES, SNOW FUN AND SANTA
The day’s first activity will be a 20km snowmobile safari. The configuration will be two persons per snowmobile whilst any children will be sitting on a sled pulled by the local guide. After lunch, the day’s adventure continues with snow fun activities. Try your hand at walking around with snowshoes, take the cross-country ski course or zoom down the toboggan slope over and over again (you are never too old to toboggan!). Children will also have a chance to drive their own mini snowmobile under supervision. Then the day’s and indeed this entire tour’s highlight will begin as you take off into the forest on a sled in search of Santa’s secret hideout.

Special Santa Service
Bring with you your child’s letter to Santa along with a small gift (max. EUR 20 in value) from their wish list and they will be waiting in the cabin. Imagine your child’s eyes light up when not only has Santa received their letter, but also has already gotten one gift from their wish list ready for them!

Day 5:  DEPARTURE
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kittilä airport.  (Breakfast)

Jeris Hotel

These cottages are situated by Lake Jerisjarvi, a 30-minute drive from Levi Ski Resort. All include wooden interiors, a private sauna and private kitchen facilities.

A sofa, fireplace and TV are featured in all cottages at Hotel Jeris Log Cabins. Some cottages have a drying cabinet. Some overlook lake, while others have views of the entrance to Pallas-Ylläs National Park

Cross-country skiing trails start right by Jeris Log Cabins. Ski equipment can be rented on site. The lakeside spa includes a traditional Finnish sauna, smoke sauna and heated pools.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the in-house restaurant. Basic groceries, gifts and textiles can be bought at the souvenir shop.

Muonio town centre is a 15-minute drive away. Kittila Airport is a 45-minute drive away.
