Water Club
The Water Club is our water sports center located approximately 300 meters from Baraza on the Bwejuu – Paje beach front. Featuring a great selection of new equipment and offering instruction in wind surfing, kite surfing and sailing, The Water Club is the perfect place to experience the very best of the Indian Ocean. Approved as the First BEST KITE SCHOOL IN ZANZIBAR Our IKO certified instructor will have you flying in no time with our new 2008 Kites and Gear.

Bikes

What better way to explore the coastline of the north and visit the local villages of Bewjuu and Paje in the south than to cycle down the beautiful white beaches of the east coast.

Beach Activities
Join in with our staff for games of football and volleyball or build a sandcastle with the family.

Beach Games
Try your hand at a few of the available games ranging from Frisbee beach tennis to swimming pool volleyball.

Reef Shoe Rental
Rent some reef shoes and walk out to the reef, this is a great way to see some of the local juvenile marine life and to enjoy the view of the coastline on the way back. 

Snorkeling Trips
Treat yourself to some of Zanzibar’s amazing marine life and coastline. A member of the water sports team will be on hand for this 2 1/2 hr. trip to show you the reef and to help with any of your needs.

High Tide Activities:

Kite surfing
This is the fastest growing water sport in the world. This is available for everyone, from just trying a trainer kite to tips and lessons on water starts, jumps and tricks.

Sailing
Try sailing in the Indian Ocean this holiday, we offer daily lessons to experience to sport and hiring for the more experienced.

Windsurfing
With warm, calm waters and a constant breeze, what better place to learn a new sport. Lessons are offered everyday as well as the option of renting the equipment.

Snorkeling set rental
Feel free to snorkel outside the hotel, however we do recommend our daily trip to the coral lagoon.

Pedal Boats
Take your loved one out for a ride on the waves and a little exercise on one of our fun for all in the family pedal boats!

Kayaks
This is the real deal…professional sea kayaks for family fun.

Paddle Boarding

Diving
Welcome to Rising Sun Dive Centre. The only PADI 5 star Gold Palm and National Geographic Dive Centre in Zanzibar. Located on the untouched South East coast of the island, our dive centre was the first to discover this unexplored region. With over 12 years experience we offer you the highest levels of customer care and attention whilst encouraging you to conserve and explore the marine environment.
We take divers from complete beginners up to professional level and have a massive variety of diving guaranteeing something for everyone. With our small groups of a maximum of 6 divers per guide we are able to offer you the chance to escape the large crowds and get the most from your dives.

Cultural and Educational Activities

• Our Library features a wonderful selection of historical and educational books on Zanzibar and is a comprehensive resource on the History of Zanzibar and East Africa.
• We also have a great selection on books with information on animals, trees, spices and fish relative to the Island and East Africa.
• We organize classes “under the Palm trees” featuring Mwalimu (teacher) giving Swahili classes and lessons on the History of Zanzibar.
• Guests can learn Palm weaving on the Bwejuu – Paje beach.
• Cooking classes are organized regularly where guests learn to prepare some classical Swahili dishes with our excellent chefs who talk about the local spices and their use and importance.
• Aside from the Tours and Excursions that are offered at our Guest Relations Desk, The Palms features a selection of activities designed to explore our area and interact with the community.
