La Cantina

Spend quality time with your significant other or fun-loving moments with the family dining at La Cantina. Culinary highlights to tempt all taste buds are our homemade pasta, succulent steaks and famous thin-based pizza, baked with care in a wood-fired pizza oven. La Cantina’s legendary tiramisu is the perfect sweet treat to round off your meal.
La Cantina is also Fancourt’s breakfast restaurant of choice. Start the day right with the fresh and healthy breakfast buffet or opt for a personal favourite from the extensive à la carte menu.

Take a seat at Fancourt’s Monet’s eatery. This French-style bistro serves casual café meals against the backdrop of the Outeniqua golf course and Mountains. The relaxed setting is the perfect spot for a light lunch, afternoon tea or coffee. It’s open from morning to late afternoon serving local and seasonal artisan cuisine, always creatively presented.
Tuck into French favourites such as niçoise salad, Provençal vegetable soup, crêpes, Croque-Madame and whatever else tempts your taste buds. Sit back and savour the joie de vivre.

The Club Lounge
You won’t need to hit the sweet spot on the fairways of Fancourt to earn your spot in Fancourt’s Club Lounge. Guests are welcomed as friends when they pop in to The Club Lounge for a snack, sandwich or hearty meal.
The Club Lounge is affectionately known as the 19th Hole, overlooking the 18th green of Montagu golf course. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Eat well from the expansive menu of steaks, burgers and platters to recharge what you’ve worked off on the golf course.
The Club Lounge delivers on its status as a celebrated 19th hole. Sports enthusiasts can catch up on the televised sporting events, while enjoying a few drinks from the well-stocked bar.

Swimming Pools
The Leisure Centre offers guests a choice of two swimming pools – one outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, perfect for those balmy summer days, and a heated indoor pool, ideal for winter or early morning training sessions.
Both are open from 06:00 to 21:00.
The Poolside Cafe
After a refreshing dip, you could choose to relax at the edge of the pool and enjoy cocktails and light meals at The Poolside Café. Soak up the South African sunshine while you enjoy a relaxed outdoor dining experience that will appeal to the entire family.
Tennis
Tennis lovers can hit the courts on Fancourt’s four beautifully maintained, mountain-facing tennis courts. Two out of the four courts are floodlit to allow for evening play. Complimentary tennis rackets and balls are available at the Leisure Centre.
Eco Elec Scooters
Explore Fancourt with our new Eco Elec Scooters. Choose between a guided tour or explore at your leisure. No license required and helmets supplied.
You need to be at least 16 years of age to rent an Eco Elec Scooter.
Fishing
Spend the day in contemplation, savouring the peace and quiet, as you attempt to catch ‘the big one’ in one of Fancourt’s fishing dams. Novice and experienced anglers will delight in a day of fishing for big-mouth black bass on a catch-and-release basis. Visit the Leisure Centre for complimentary fishing rods and tackle.
Leisure Trails
Breathe in the fresh mountain air on Fancourt’s various leisure trails. The Estate features outdoor trails of varying lengths to accommodate all fitness levels and ages. Choose to walk, jog or bike along the gentle 2.5km, 5km and more invigorating 10km paved leisure trails.
Keep an eye open for spotting birds and discover the indigenous trees on the estate. Bicycles are available to rent at the Leisure Centre.
Gym
Fancourt offers a well-equipped gym for those who prefer finding wellness raising their heart rate and pumping some iron indoors.
There is a comprehensive range of Technogym equipment for cardio exercise and weight training. This state-of-the-art workout area also offers specialised fitness programmes,* including Yoga and Pilates classes.
The mens’ and ladies’ locker rooms provide spacious, elegant areas for guests to unwind after their workout. Separate saunas and lounge areas lead off from the immaculate locker rooms.

Kidz Club
Discover fun-filled family moments at Fancourt’s Kidz Club. The Club is housed in the Leisure Centre and offers fully supervised activities for children aged 3-10 years old.
Fancourt knows that every child is unique. Shy or outgoing, creative, sporty or adventurous, we know that not all activities are suitable for every age group and child. The Fancourt Kidz Team will entertain your kids with all sorts of imaginative activities from arts and crafts, nature walks to board games.
Parents can rest at ease knowing that the facility is managed by a trained and experienced team. The most challenging job will be persuading your little ones to leave at the end of the day.
Please note: Children under the age of 3 years old must be supervised by an adult and/or babysitter in order to participate in Kidz Club activities.

Fancourt’s Montagu Golf Course, originally designed by Gary Player, has earned a world class reputation as one of the finest 18-hole parkland layouts. It holds the prestigious 8th position on Golf Digest South Africa’s list of top golf courses in the country.
Golfers can expect a challenging, yet highly enjoyable golfing experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the Fancourt estate.
This tree-lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain across an undulating indigenous landscape. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. A warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.
Ranked 17th in South Africa by the Golf Digest experts, Fancourt’s Outeniqua golf course offers a leisurely and entertaining golfing experience. It provides a more forgiving terrain than its counterpart, the Montagu, but offers its fair share of challenges to keep golfers interested.
Also designed by Gary Player and named after the Outeniqua Mountains, the course can comfortably accommodate a large field of golfers. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. Extraordinary circumstances require extraordinary measures and this has become more and more apparent over the last couple of weeks as we face COVID-19.
Following the South African Government’s decision to declare a National Disaster, we remain fully committed to playing our part to stem the spread of the virus. We are devastated to have to make the unprecedented and conscious decision to close the hotel. In the history of The Links we have never been faced with such a situation. We will immediately commence winding down the hotel operations and all other services, depending on our guests in house.
We are acutely aware of our footprint in the community and we believe that we should take every possible precaution. We trust that the community we serve will appreciate that we really have no other option than to temporarily close down.

The Links is the iconic golfing hallmark of the Fancourt estate. Golfing legend Gary Player described it as his greatest ever feat as a course designer.
Featuring an undulating, windswept terrain and dune-style landscape, the course is the collaborative handiwork of Gary Player, course designer, Phil Jacobs and Fancourt owner, Dr. Hasso Plattner. Once an airfield, today it is a living piece of environmental and golfing heritage.
The Links has hosted some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, including the Presidents Cup (2003), the SA Open (2005) and the 2012 Volvo Golf Champions European Tour.

A detailed stroke saver provides distance measurements and images to assist players to navigate the extensive rises and falls that characterise this world class golfing challenge.
Apart from its distinctive design, The Links has been lauded for its vital role in environmental sustainability and awarded an accreditation as a Certified Audubon Cooperation Sanctuary. This certification necessitated a degree of ecological value that includes wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation and other environmental factors.
